Test 2008 Running

ExtraEnergy is testing 20 more pedelecs. Technical results can be expected in spring 2008, the full test report and ratings will be published in June.

The 2008 Test started In September 2007. Test rides in Tanna, Germany, have been completed with the test bikes delivered so far. Half of them could also complete test rides in Kirchheim/Teck, Germany. Meanwhile the number of products in the test has grown to 20 pedelecs. The results will enhance the overview of current products on the market a lot.

New Evaluation System
Evaluation of tested vehicles will be done by target groups. Technical results will - just as before - be based on measuring data during test rides. The ratings will depend on how the test bike meets the requirements of the corresponding target group.

The last Test of its Kind
Starting in 2009, a new testing method will be intro-
duced. This new method will take the latest market developments into account in a more suitable way than the test did so far. Consequently, the 2008 Test is the last chance to participate in a test that directly compares all products to each other.

Test Exhibitions in new Showcases
The tested bikes will firmly be installed in new glass showcases togehter with their results. Thanks to the new weather resistant construction of the displays, exhibitions become possible in a lot more environments and in a very cost-efficient way.

Test exhibitions are planned at the German Technology Museum (Deutsches Technikmuseum) in Berlin, at the bicycle trade shows Eurobike and IFMA Cologne in Germany, and at many other locations. Participants in the test can book the touring exhibition as an additional option.
